Norwich City boss in running for Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month.

THE Football League has announced its nominations for Manager of the Month for August, and City boss Neil Adams is in the running.

Nominations for the award, the winner of which will be announced on Friday 5 September, also include Wolves' Kenny Jacket, Stuart Pearce of Nottingham Forest and Millwall's Ian Holloway.

In explaining Adams' nomination, the Football League said in a statement that Adams had overcome an opening day defeat "to instil belief and confidence at Carrow Road with 10 points from the next four games", and had "moulded his side in his image and savoured a 1-0 East Anglian derby victory at Ipswich Town."

The Manager of the Month judging panel is chaired by former Football League manager Dave Bassett with Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers' Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.

This season, a £250,000 Sky Bet Transfer Fund will go to a Football League club to spend on players in the January 2015 transfer window.

Fans who bet with Sky Bet generate Transfer Fund Tokens and go into a random draw to win a £5,000 prize for themselves, and the £250,000 Sky Bet Transfer Fund for their club.
