Olsson and Lafferty close to returnMARTIN Olsson will miss the trip to Sunderland but Alex Neil says the full-back is set to rejoin the squad for training at the beginning of next week.
The Sweden international has watched from the sidelines so far this season after undergoing shoulder surgery soon after City’s Play-Off Final win over Middlesbrough in May.
He is close to a return to full fitness, as is Kyle Lafferty (knee) according to Neil, who was speaking to Norwich City TV ahead of his team’s trip to the Stadium of Light.
“Martin is likely to be back in the next couple of weeks. He’s joining in training with the players at the start of next week, and then providing there are no setbacks he should be ok to go,” he said.
“Kyle strained his knee in pre-season but he’s been doing a lot of fitness work this week and he’s had no reaction with it, so hopefully he can get himself involved in training.
“The boys have trained well this week. We’ve got everybody on the right track, so the squad will be as it was.”
Youssouf Mulumbu is City’s only other absentee, with the midfielder recovering from surgery after breaking his metatarsal against Brentford earlier this month.
