City youngsters visit Gunners this weekend

NORWICH City's Under-18s coach Graeme Murty has been pleased with the reaction of his squad ahead of Saturday's game at Arsenal (11am).

City's youngsters were beaten by FA Youth Cup champions Chelsea last weekend, as Ike Ugbo's hat-trick consigned them to a 4-1 Barclays Under-18s Premier League defeat.

Murty now wants his side to continue their positive response on the field, and told "The lads have done a lot of good work this week by being really attentive in their coaching and video review sessions.

"They were really open and engaged when looking back at the game, and brought up some good points about the way Chelsea played. Everyone has worked really hard and hopefully that will translate into a good performance this weekend."

The Academy coach is hopeful of having a range of options at his disposal for the contest, and added: "I've got a virtually full-fit squad to choose from, apart from our long-term injuries, which is a good problem to have.

"We've got a couple of niggles but our medical staff have been working hard to get the players fit. We're also hoping Joe Crowe and Louis Ramsay will be available having both been away with the Under-21s.

"It's important, even when players have time with the Under-21s, that we're still able to maximise their game-time so they're ready to play when needed."
