Striker nets in important City winDIEUMERCI Mbokani credited the character of his side after Norwich City overcame Aston Villa with a 2-0 victory at Carrow Road on Monday.
The DR Congo striker's late header wrapped up three Barclays Premier League points for the Canaries, following Jonny Howson's fine volley opening the scoring in the first half.
Speaking to Norwich City TV after the match, Mbokani said: "I'm very happy to have taken the three points today.
"I hope we will keep working towards the next match and that we can win that one too. "
Reflecting on his third goal of the campaign, Mbokani thanked City manager Alex Neil for handing him a starting berth.
"I believe that today this was Alex Neil's decision because I have been working hard throughout the week," the 30-year-old forward explained.
"There were some moments where I was injured but at the current time I am feeling very well, and I am going to continue working towards scoring more goals for Norwich.
"The objective is to remain in the top division. We are going to continue like this, and for the next match we want to play in this manner again."
