Terms agreed for midfielder to complete temporary switch on Thursday

NORWICH City Football Club are pleased to confirm terms have been agreed with West Bromwich Albion to sign midfielder Graham Dorrans on a loan deal initially running until Sunday, 22 March.

The 27-year-old Scotland international is set to join the Canaries from Thursday, and would be available for selection for the Sky Bet Championship game against Watford this weekend.

After agreeing terms to move to Carrow Road on a temporary basis, Dorrans told "I'm glad to finally get it sorted.

"I came here on the last day of the transfer window and for whatever reason it didn't work out. I've been in discussions ever since then, so although I was frustrated it never got done on the final day hopefully now I can add to a good squad.

"I spoke to the manager and a couple of the boys, and they had nothing but nice things to say about the Club. The manager and everyone here is working to get this Club back to the Premier League, and I'm excited to be here.

"With the fans right behind us, hopefully we can do that as we've got some big games coming up. I'm looking forward to getting started, and to helping us push on."

Signing for the Baggies from Livingston in 2008, Dorrans has gone on to feature 189 times for the West Midlands side to date, scoring 25 goals over the course of six-and-a-half years at the Hawthorns.

He enjoyed a memorable first full season in English football, with an impressive goal return of 18 goals from midfield helping Albion to clinch promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2009-2010 campaign.

That form saw Dorrans named PFA Championship Fans' Player of the Year, while also being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Canaries manager Alex Neil was delighted to add a player of such considerable experience to the squad, commenting: "Graham has got Premier League pedigree and was West Brom’s Player of the Season the last time they were at Championship level.

“He’s a fantastic, attacking player and also a very versatile player who will certainly add to our options in midfield areas.”

In accordance with the terms agreed, the final game of Dorrans’ initial loan spell for which he will be available will be the match against Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road on Saturday, 21 March.
