Four City loan exports in action

IN Turkey, Kyle Lafferty played his first full match for Çaykur Rizespor on Sunday as they faced Mersin at Rize Ataturk Stadi.

However, the Northern Ireland international endured a difficult afternoon, with his side going down 4-0 to the Red Devils.

Defeat leaves Rizespor in the Super Lig relegation-zone, having picked up 17 points from their 20 games so far this season.

Meanwhile, fellow striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel made an appearance as a 63rd minute substitute as St-Etienne fell to a 1-0 league defeat at Bordeux on Sunday.

The result means Les Verts have now not won for five games in France’s Ligue 1, seeing them fall ten points behind leaders Olympiques Lyonnais.

City’s remaining two players currently out on loan deals could both be found at Glanford Park this weekend, where Scunthorpe United hosted Swindon Town.

Harry Toffolo and Louis Thompson each played 90 minutes for Mark Cooper’s side as they lost 3-1 to an improving Iron outfit.

Swindon’s first back-to-back defeats this season leave them four points shy of table-topping Bristol City, with 16 games of the regular season remaining.

However, their hopes of securing automatic promotion suffered minimal damage due to both City and nearest challengers MK Dons also losing.
