U18s PREVIEW: WEST HAM

19 February 2015

City youngsters travel to the capital this weekend

Having beaten Leicester City 2-1 at Colney Training Centre on the final day of January, the Canaries produced an excellent performance to defeat a strong Southampton side by the same scoreline last weekend.

NORWICH City Under-18s visit West Ham United on Saturday (12pm) looking to register their third successive win.

REPORT: U18s 2-1 SOUTHAMPTON
Those results followed impressive showings against Fulham and Chelsea, with City ending the regular Barclays Under-18s Premier League season strongly as they begin working towards the 2015-2016 campaign.

The reverse fixture saw the Canaries cruelly defeated late on as Jerry Amoo's solitary strike two minutes from time gave the Hammers a slender away victory.

Jerry Gill's side deserved more from the contest, and ahead of the return tie City's Under-18s coach told canaries.co.uk: "We'll go into the West Ham game full of confidence.

"They're having a good season, and are a real bogey team for us. Even if they're not playing well, they always seems to grind out a result.

"It will be another challenge for us, but one we're looking forward to."
