PREVIEW: CITY'S U21s TAKE ON SOUTHAMPTON

14 January 2015

U21s Cup: Thursday January 15, 7pm at St Mary's

NORWICH City will be looking to progress into the quarter-finals of the Barclays Under-21s Premier League Cup when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s on Thursday (7pm).

Paul Wilkinson’s side head into the game following a respectable 1-1 draw with Manchester United last Friday, a contest that took place in front of 9,682 fans at Carrow Road.

City put in an exceptional performance against Fulham in the previous round, beating the Cottagers 4-2 at Motspur Park. Southampton, who are top of Under-21s Premier League, reached this stage after a 1-0 victory at Ipswich Town.

The Canaries will be without Cameron McGeehan and Jamar Loza after both players completed short-term loan moves to Cambridge United and Yeovil Town respectively this week.

The winner of this match will face Watford in the last eight.
