Jerry Gill's side prepare to face league leaders

NORWICH City Under-18s visit table-topping Chelsea on Saturday (12pm), following an impressive showing against Fulham last weekend.

An extremely youthful Canaries side secured a 1-1 draw at Motspur Park Training Ground, but could consider themselves unfortunate not to take all three points after creating a number of chances throughout the contest.

A total of five Under-16s representatives started the match, while there was also a late substitute appearance for Under-15s player, Glen Middleton.

The reverse meeting between the sides in the Barclays Under-18s Premier League saw Chelsea come from behind to edge a narrow 2-1 victory at Colney Training Centre at the start of October.

City had taken a ninth-minute lead when Jamal Lewis calmly finished following a charging run down the right wing from Michee Efete.

However, the Blues levelled shortly after from the penalty-spot as Tammy Abraham stroked home from 12-yards after being illegally felled by goalkeeper Aston Oxborough.

The hosts looked the most likely to secure the win after the break, but Chelsea stopper Jared Thompson denied George Couzens with a fine save before Jake Simpson had a goal ruled out for offside.

With just eight minutes remaining, the visitors stole victory against the run of play when Abraham bundled in from close-range following Oxborough palming a Faik Bolkiah cross into his path.
