City notch second big win of pre-seasonALEX Neil hailed the professionalism of his squad after their 10-0 friendly victory at Hitchin Town.
The goals flowed for City at Top Field as they demonstrated their clinical edge once again to back up Saturday's 7-0 win at Gorleston.
Hitchin, celebrating 150 years of football in the Hertfordshire town, provided stubborn opposition in the first half but their visitors' quality showed after the break.
Speaking to the press after the final whistle, Neil commented: "The most pleasing for me was the attitude of our players.
"To be fair to Hitchin, I thought they dug in really well in the first half as well and made the game as difficult as they could.
"The boys applied themselves really well, and then the second half lads came on and were fantastic.
"Our quality came through in the end. The most important thing is that we don't want to pick up any injuries."
City, who donned their 2015-16 Errea away kit for the match, were without senior players Jonny Howson, Lewis Grabban and Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe from the weekend's game at Emerald Park.
Neil confirmed that none of them were nursing any serious injury concerns, once again highlighting fitness as the priority at this stage.
"It's just a case of making sure that we get good quality work in without picking up injuries," he added.
"Our quality at times was fantastic throughout the game, but we need to step up again with the opposition that we're going to face.
"The game on Friday will see everyone go from playing 45 minutes to playing 60. We'll gradually bring it up to the 90 minute mark."
