Winger speak exclusively to Norwich City TV

A BUSY year of football hasn’t dampened Nathan Redmond’s appetite for the new season.

The winger was one of City’s star performers in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs before heading to the Czech Republic with England’s Under-21s for the European Championships in June.

He started in each of the young Lions’ group matches and was named in UEFA’s Team of the Tournament, but the Wembley goalscorer is raring to go once again with the Canaries in 2014-15.

Talking exclusively to Norwich City TV at the Club’s training camp in Germany, Redmond said: “I was itching to get back into it. My fitness isn’t really an issue, so it’s just about getting the match sharpness back and 45 minutes on Monday was good for me.

“I feel pretty much ready. It’s just a case of keeping me ticking over at the moment and getting ready for the season.

“I don’t think it’s difficult for myself, it’s just a bit challenging for the staff and the sports science guys to put me on a different schedule to what the boys are doing.

“My first week back would have been their third week back, but it wasn’t difficult. I did a week of fitness and I got back into the swing of things pretty quickly.”

The 21-year-old was happy with the form he showed as the Canaries bounced back from missing out on automatic promotion with an historic Play-Off triumph in May.

“I got some consistent form in the last five, six, seven games of last season, and I couldn’t have capped it off any better by scoring at Wembley and getting promoted back to the Premier League with a great squad.

“This season has come around quickly. It didn’t seem long ago that we were preparing for the play-offs against Ipswich and Middlesbrough.

“We’re back in the Premier League and obviously we want to stay there. It’s going to be a tough season but I think it’s going to be enjoyable.”
