First-years start full-time at Colney

TEN youngsters began their Norwich City Academy scholarships at the start of July.

The group form part of the Under-18s squad, who will be coached by Graeme Murty in 2015-16 as announced on on Wednesday.

They will train full-time at Colney Training Centre for two seasons, with the end goal of earning a professional contract with the Canaries.

City's Under-18s memorably won the FA Youth Cup two years ago, with a number of those players progressing into the senior game.

Murty's team, who signed their deals in the company of David McNally, Alex Neil and Ricky Martin, will compete in the Barclays Under-18s Premier League alongside the Youth Cup, with their fixture list set to be published in full soon.
