YOUSSOUF Mulumbu already ‘feels at home’ as a Norwich City player, just three weeks after completing his free transfer move from West Bromwich Albion.

Mulumbu is currently with the first-team squad on their pre-season training camp in Germany and it appears the midfielder has settled quickly into Alex Neil’s group.

In an exclusive interview with Norwich City TV, he spoke in-depth about how comfortable everyone at the Club has made him feel – and how he had perform the traditional initiation song!

“I’ve had a really good welcome. It was easy for me because I can speak English, and I had the song I had to sing! I feel at home, which is good,” he said.

“Obviously it’s weird when you spend six to seven years at the same team but as I’ve said the welcome has been really good. I get along with all the players.

“The best thing now is to work together. I came into an honest group – I see the way people train, the way people run and the way people help each other. I’m going to give my best.

“We’ve got a big challenge but I think we’re going to do it because most of the players here played two years ago in the Premier League. I’m really confident.”

Mulumbu didn’t feature in the 1-0 loss to Maccabi Haifa on Monday, but has pulled on the colours of his new team twice this pre-season when they came up against Hitchin Town and Cambridge United.

The DR Congo international is happy with the routine at this time of year, adding: “When we talk about pre-season we talk about tough runs to get your fitness back, but that’s fine because as footballers we’re used to it.

“I wouldn’t say we enjoy it but we’re ready for it and we know that it’s going to have a good result in the end, because obviously if we’re fit enough we will win some games.

“In pre-season you have to train hard and see how your teammates are playing.”
