YOUSSOUF Mulumbu already âfeels at homeâ as a Norwich City player, just three weeks after completing his free transfer move from West Bromwich Albion.Mulumbu is currently with the first-team squad on their pre-season training camp in Germany and it appears the midfielder has settled quickly into Alex Neilâs group.
In an exclusive interview with Norwich City TV, he spoke in-depth about how comfortable everyone at the Club has made him feel â and how he had perform the traditional initiation song!
âIâve had a really good welcome. It was easy for me because I can speak English, and I had the song I had to sing! I feel at home, which is good,â he said.
âObviously itâs weird when you spend six to seven years at the same team but as Iâve said the welcome has been really good. I get along with all the players.
âThe best thing now is to work together. I came into an honest group â I see the way people train, the way people run and the way people help each other. Iâm going to give my best.
âWeâve got a big challenge but I think weâre going to do it because most of the players here played two years ago in the Premier League. Iâm really confident.â
Mulumbu didnât feature in the 1-0 loss to Maccabi Haifa on Monday, but has pulled on the colours of his new team twice this pre-season when they came up against Hitchin Town and Cambridge United.
The DR Congo international is happy with the routine at this time of year, adding: âWhen we talk about pre-season we talk about tough runs to get your fitness back, but thatâs fine because as footballers weâre used to it.
âI wouldnât say we enjoy it but weâre ready for it and we know that itâs going to have a good result in the end, because obviously if weâre fit enough we will win some games.
âIn pre-season you have to train hard and see how your teammates are playing.â
