Squad head to St George's Park this week

THE majority of Norwich City's players were back to work on Monday to start preparations for the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League campaign.

Just over a month after securing promotion by beating Middlesbrough 2-0 in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final, Alex Neil's men began two days of fitness testing at Colney Training Centre.

The group will head off to St George's Park, the FA's national football centre in Burton, for five days from Wednesday to step up their workload.

Nine Canaries players will then join the squad next week, including Kyle Lafferty and Ricky van Wolfswinkel and the seven who had extended breaks due to international commitments.

Russell Martin, Steven Whittaker, Alex Tettey, Nathan Redmond, Jamar Loza, Wes Hoolahan and Martin Olsson are all unlikely to feature in the opening pre-season fixture at Gorleston.

Youssouf Mulumbu officially joins the Club on July 1 after his West Bromwich Albion contract expires.

Following their July 11 curtain-raiser, City have four further friendlies confirmed ahead of their top flight opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday, August 8.

Details of a pre-season training camp will also be made available once confirmed.

Secure your tickets for our special Carrow Road 80th anniversary pre-season dinner in the Norfolk Lounge on July 29. The full first-team squad, along with manager Alex Neil, will be there. Don't miss out!
