LONDON TO AMSTERDAM CHALLENGE: TEAM NCFC

10 June 2015

Canaries team prepare for cycle marathon

THIS Friday, two Norwich City colleagues and members of the Yellow Army will join other Football League representatives in The London to Amsterdam Challenge in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Dan Rodwell and Rosie Wallace, who work in the Club’s IT and Catering departments respectively, are helping to raise money for The Football League’s official charity partner by cycling from Leyton Orient FC to Dutch giants Ajax.

They will be joined by City supporter Lee Kidell, as well as fans and representatives of many other Football League clubs at The Matchroom Stadium in East London in the early hours of Friday, June 12 for the third annual #L2A.

The 145-mile event includes a half-time pit-stop at Colchester United FC before the squad set sail from Harwich at the end of day one, with the aim of raising more than £250,000 to help save men's lives.

Day two, Saturday, June 13, takes in a serene sojourn along the pristine pathways of the Netherlands culminating in a finale at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK, and in 2014 riders from more than 50 clubs helped raise over £200,000 to support the 250,000 men affected by the disease in the UK.
