ALEX NEIL NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH

6 March 2015

Canaries boss is February's Championship Manager of the Month

NORWICH City manager Alex Neil has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for February.

Largely unknown prior to arriving at Carrow Road from Hamilton Academicals, Neil has galvanised the players and demanded a consistency which brought five convincing February wins in as many games.

George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: "This is a fantastic start to his managerial career with Norwich City. With five wins out of five and a 100% record for the month, he has taken the club from outside the Play-Off positions to be in contention for an automatic promotion.

Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Before Alex Neil took the hotseat at Norwich, the squad were struggling to get into gear, following their relegation from the Premier League.

"However, since he took over, they have started to show the undoubted quality they have within the squad and are knocking on the door of an automatic promotion place."

Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: "Since Alex Neil's appointment Norwich have climbed up the table with an amazing five straight wins - and three clean sheets in the process.

"Five wins on the bounce would have paid out at 22/1 with Sky Bet!"

In Sky Bet League 1, Simon Grayson of Preston North End was named Manager of the Month.

The Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month Award went to Portsmouth manager Andy Awford.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers' Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery
