Huddersfield Town are nine points off the relegation zone with nine matches to go in the current Sky Bet Championship table.

Joe Lolley earned them a point on Saturday at Birmingham City as he fired home the equaliser after David Cotterill had put the Blues in front earlier in the first half.

Ahead of Tuesday, their form at the John Smith’s Stadium has been mixed; they’ve only won one of their last five league matches on home turf.

Norwich lead the head-to-head record between the two teams with 13 wins to Town’s 11. City won 5-0 at Carrow Road when they met last on December 13.

Two former Canaries are in Huddersfield’s squad: Jacob Butterfield (2012-13) and James Vaughan (2011-13).

The Terriers have three First Division titles to their credit, all from dominant spells in mid 1920s, plus an FA Cup from the same period.

Chris Powell was appointed Huddersfield Town boss in September 2014.

The ex-Charlton manager took over at the John Smith’s Stadium following Mark Robins’ sacking early in the 2014-15 campaign.

After a stellar 23-year professional playing career as a full-back for Southend United, Derby County and Charlton among the other clubs, Powell, who also earned five senior caps for England, was given his first permanent chance in management by the Addicks in 2011.

He guided them to the League One title in 2012 at the end of his first full season in charge but was dismissed a year ago due to differences with Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet.

Powell served as a coach at Leicester City before becoming a manager, working under Nigel Pearson, Paulo Sousa and Sven Goran Eriksson.
