Centurion hails Canaries playmakerJONNY Howson has saluted the match-winning capabilites of Wes Hoolahan after the Republic of Ireland international's starring display in last weekend's 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road.
The 32-year-old produced a fine performance to help guide Alex Neil's side to an important three points, creating the opening goal for Howson before effectively securing the win with a second half penalty.
Having now accumulated a century of City appearances himself, Howson paid tribute to his long-serving team-mate and told canaries.co.uk: "I said after my first full season that Wes is one of the best players, if not the best player, that I’ve ever played with.
"When he’s on form he can make things happen; he does things only special players can. He takes over and makes things happen for us, and people around him respond to that.
"Against Nottingham Forest he put in a very good performance and it was widely noticed by a lot of people."
With just seven games of the regular Sky Bet Championship season now remaining, the Canaries currently sit two points shy of the automatic promotion positions as thet target a return to the top flight.
They face a crucial pair of games in quick succession over the course of the Easter weekend, with Howson commenting: "We’ll just take it one match at a time, because the only one we can affect is next Friday at Brighton.
"That’s what our focus has got to be on. We know where we want to be but in this league it's very tight, with a lot of teams still having to play each other.
"There are going to be twists and turns before the end of the season. If you come out of it successful then it will be an entertaining run-in, but if you don't then it won't be.
"For every professional, the Premier League is where you want to be. To get back there at the first time of asking would be a great achievement."
Jonny Howson was speaking to City360, our exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary of Norwich City's 2014-15 season. Look out for the next episode, which is set to go live on Friday, 10 April.
