Update: City's players currently out on loan

JOSH Murphy made his first start for Wigan Athletic in their 1-1 home draw with Bolton Wanderers at the weekend.

The young winger played the full game for the Latics as they snatched a point from the jaws of defeat thanks to Martyn Waghorn’s stoppage time overhead kick.

Wigan signed 20-year-old Murphy on a month's loan earlier in March and he’s impressed in his two appearances for Malky Mackay’s men so far.

Elsewhere in the Sky Bet Championship, Michael Turner was on a winning Fulham team for the first time as they beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Turner linked up with the struggling Cottagers on March 12 and has featured three times since. Kit Symons’ outfit are now eight points clear of the drop-zone.

Jacob Murphy’s Colchester United continued their improved form with a respectable 2-2 draw at Gillingham on Saturday.

Murphy started and got another 90 minutes under his belt as the Us were denied three points by Doug Loft’s last-gasp leveller for the ten-man Gills.

Further afield, Kyle Lafferty came on as a second-half substitute for Caykur Rizespor in their comfortable 3-0 win over Kayseri Erciyesspor.

The Northern Ireland international has played eight games for the Turkish Super Lig side, scoring once, since securing a loan move at the beginning of February.

Striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel was an unused substitute for Saint-Étienne on Sunday, with the Ligue 1 team keeping up their chase for a top-four finish following a 2-0 victory over Lille.

Harry Toffolo was not in action as Swindon Town had a weekend off from their Sky Bet League One programme. The City Academy graduate now joins up with England’s Under-20s for their double-header versus Mexico and USA.

Fellow Robins’ loanee Louis Thompson is out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

Finally, Cameron McGeehan’s Luton Town didn’t play either, with the midfielder now preparing for their midweek Sky Bet League Two test at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

The 19-year-old has featured six times since rejoining the Hatters on loan in February.
