Young City loan exports on targetHARRY Toffolo scored his first senior goal on Saturday as Swindon Town returned to form with a convincing 3-0 victory over ten-man Notts County.
Goals from John Swift and Andy Williams put the hosts firmly in control, before Magpies midfielder Liam Noble was sent off for two bookable offences.
Toffolo completed the scoring from close-range a minute from time to secure a win which keeps Mark Cooper’s side within two points of the automatic promotion positions.
Another City academy graduate to find the target was Cameron McGeehan, who scored for Luton Town during their 3-2 defeat at home to Morecambe.
The visitors raced into an early 2-0 lead, but McGeehan’s powerful header just before the interval gave the Hatters a lifeline.
They levelled with 14 minutes remaining through Alex Lawless, only for a late Luke Wilkinson own-goal to ensure the Lancashire outfit took all three points.
In Turkey, Kyle Lafferty played the first 45 minutes as Rizespor fought back from 2-0 down to draw with struggling Balikesirspor.
The home side took a 1-0 lead into the break, and extended that advantage shortly after the restart courtesy of a goal from Ante Kulusic.
Rizespor’s Kivanc Karacas reduced the deficit with 77 minutes gone, ahead of Leonard Kweuke – who had replaced Lafferty – notching the crucial equaliser six minutes later.
Finally, Ricky van Wolfswinkel was an unused substitute as St-Etienne ran out 2-0 winners at home to Lorient to maintain their challenge for European qualification from the French league.
