Eight City players set to feature for their countries

EIGHT Norwich City players have joined up with their countries for international duty.

Wes Hoolahan, man of the match for the Canaries against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, has been called up for the Republic of Ireland by manager Martin O’Neill.

They are set to welcome Poland on Sunday March 29 (7.45pm) for their European Championship qualifier in Dublin.

Group D rivals Scotland are also in action and have included City pair Russell Martin and Steven Whittaker in their squad.

They have two matches, with a friendly against Northern Ireland at Hampden Park on Wednesday March 25 (7.45pm) followed by their European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar at the same venue on Sunday March 29 (5pm).

Kyle Lafferty could feature for Northern Ireland, with the striker included in Michael O’Neill’s group for their trip to Glasgow and subsequent Group F meeting with Finland at Windsor Park on Sunday March 29 (5pm).

The 27-year-old is currently out on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor.

Norway will usurp Croatia with victory in their Group H clash in Zagreb on Saturday March 28 (5pm), and combative midfielder Alex Tettey has travelled as part of Per-Mathias Hogmo’s party.

Fellow Scandinavian Martin Olsson could be in action for his native Sweden, who visit Group G bottom team Moldova on Friday March 27 (7.45pm) ahead of a home friendly against Iran on Tuesday March 31 (6.30pm).

The Canaries are also represented in each of England’s Under-21s and Under-20s squads.

Nathan Redmond is in Gareth Southgate’s Under-21s for their friendly double-header. The young Lions are in Prague to take on Czech Republic on Friday March 27 (7pm) before hosting Germany at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Monday March 30 (7.45pm).

For the Under-20s, Harry Toffolo, who is currently enjoying a successful loan spell at Sky Bet League One promotion-chasing Swindon Town, could feature against Mexico at The Hive on Wednesday March 25 (7.45pm) and versus USA at Home Park on Sunday March 29 (3pm).
