Third match of play-off campaign for Jerry Gill's side

NORWICH City face Southampton at Staplewood Training Ground on Saturday (11am) as they continue their play-off bid after finishing the regular season strongly.

The Canaries have four points from their first two matches in the post-season format, after following up their win over Arsenal with a draw against Bolton last weekend.

Those results came off the back of four victories in the final five games of the Barclays Under-18s Premier League campaign, including a 2-1 success over Southampton at Colney Training Centre six weeks ago.

Jerry Gill's side are unbeaten against the Saints this term, having rescued a late point in Hampshire courtesy of an excellent Harley Black free-kick back in October.

Black is set to be welcomed back into the squad alongside George Couzens and Louis Ramsay after the trio's recent involvement with the Under-21s side, bolstering the options available to City.

The return of three players off the back of last weekend's strong performance provides an added bonus for Gill, who told "Any manager would say competition for places is healthy, and we'll do what's right for the individuals.

"The lads have got a little bit about them now and look confident going into games. They know they can take what they do on the training ground into matches, so we'll focus on what we're doing.

"We've got to make sure we keep emphasising the key aspects to play effective football. If we get all that right we've got a chance of winning the game.
