Fans invited to grab a selfie with the Play Off trophy

WHILE time has proven too short to allow Norwich City Football Club and the City Council to organise a civic parade, Canaries fans will nonetheless have a special opportunity to celebrate the club's promotion to the Premier League.

The Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Trophy will be displayed in the main reception of Norwich City Hall tomorrow (Thursday, May 28) between 9am and 6pm.

Fans are invited to come along, sign an official book of congratulations and pose for photos with the trophy.

Norwich City CEO David McNally, said: "The events at Wembley on Monday were some of the greatest in the long history of Norwich City Football Club. Not just because of the wonderful performance of Alex Neil and his men, but because of the unbelievable support we received from the club's irrepressible supporters.

"It's regrettable that we can't manage a full parade in the city, but the opportunity to be pictured with the trophy and write a message of congratulations will allow fans to leave their own permanent imprint on this wonderful occasion."

Alan Waters, leader of Norwich City Council, said: "It's very generous of the club to allow us to us to be guardian of the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Trophy cup for a day.

"So, we're inviting fans to come into City Hall tomorrow (Thursday) from 9am to 6pm to see the cup in person, and have their photograph taken next to it."
