14 City players are currently out on loan

GARY Hooper made his Sheffield Wednesday debut as a late substitute in their 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The striker completed an emergency loan switch to the Sky Bet Championship side last week and replaced Atdhe Nuhiu in the 86th minute at Hillsborough in a game settled by Fernando Forestieri's second half strike.

Defender Michael Turner is also on loan with the Owls but he missed the match due to an ongoing knee injury.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Josh Murphy got another game under his belt for MK Dons but they were beaten 2-0 at home by promotion contenders Hull City.

Elliott Bennett's Bristol City were also defeated as a rampant first half performance from Fulham earned them a 4-1 victory at Ashton Gate.

Kit Symons' side scored all four of their goals inside the first 36 minutes of a match in which Bennett competed at right-back.

Harry Toffolo was selected in Rotherham United's starting eleven at Derby County, but Neil Redfearn's Millers fell to a 3-0 defeat against their in-form opponents.

England Under-20s international Toffolo, a City Academy graduate, was replaced by Aidan White in the 62nd minute at the iPro Stadium. Tony Andreu missed out on the matchday squad.

In Sky Bet League One, Jacob Murphy played 90 minutes as Coventry City completed a stunning turnaround to beat Peterborough United 3-2 at the Ricoh Arena.

The Midlanders were two goals down at half-time but a late brace from Adam Armstrong secured the maximum points haul after Romain Vincelot's 56th-minute goal.

Swindon Town lost 1-0 at Wigan Athletic after a 95th-minute winner from Francisco Junior, where Louis Thompson was introduced as a second half substitute for the Robins, but goalkeeper Remi Matthews didn't get off the bench for Burton Albion in their narrow 1-0 triumph at Oldham Athletic.

In Sky Bet League Two, Jamar Loza was an unused substitute for nine-man Stevenage in their 5-1 home reverse to Oxford United, while north of the border Carlton Morris entered play in the 56th minute for Hamilton Academical, who suffered a 4-2 loss at home to St Johnstone.

In the Vanarama National League, Cameron Norman made his first senior appearance as Woking were beaten 1-0 at Kidderminster Harriers. Ben Killip, meanwhile, was between the sticks for Lowestoft Town, with the Trawlerboys suffering a 3-0 loss at Bradford Park Avenue.

Further afield, Ricky van Wolfswinkel completed 90 minutes for Real Betis on Sunday, but they were leapfrogged in La Liga by opponents Athletic Bilbao who won 3-1 at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
