Main Club Partner to match fans' donations pound-for-poundCITY are delighted to confirm the Club’s main sponsors Aviva have generously agreed to match up to £10,000-worth of donations made by fans to the ground collection for the Child Refugee Crisis on Saturday.
Lindsay Forster, Marketing Director of Aviva said: “I am delighted to announce that Aviva will match the first £10,000 raised by fans during the bucket collection for Save the Children’s Child Refugee Crisis Appeal ahead of the match against Leicester City at Carrow Road on Saturday [3rd October].
“Aviva and its employees have already committed over £50,000 to the Red Cross Refugee Crisis Appeal, but there is always more to do to support desperate families who have no choice but to risk their lives to flee wars and persecution. Standing proudly alongside our partner as they hold the biggest collection at the Club in recent history, and matching the first £10,000 raised through the kind and generous donations from fans on Saturday, demonstrates the positive impact which organisations acting together are able to have for those that need it most.”
The Club’s Joint Majority Shareholder Delia Smith welcomed the news of Aviva’s support and said she hoped it would encourage people to make a donation to the ground collection on Saturday.
Delia said: “It’s fantastic news that Aviva have so generously agreed to match all of the fans’ donations made to our ground collection for the Child Refugee Crisis Appeal on Saturday.
“It means every pound people are willing to donate on the day will be matched by our great sponsors up to a maximum of £10,000 – so if you’ve got some spare change and would like to help the children affected by this awful crisis, please do make a donation on the day and Aviva will double it!”
