Redmond and Tettey on the scoresheet

NORWICH City youngster Harry Toffolo started for England Under-20s against Germany in their final game of the Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup.

The winners would be awarded the trophy, but the Young Lions fell to a 1-0 defeat to the hosts courtesy of Maximilian Dittgen's strike and finished second in the tournament.

Nathan Redmond fared better in England Under-21s victory over Kazakhstan, playing the full ninety minutes and scoring England's second goal as they triumphed 3-0 at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.

Redmond controlled an inch-perfect pass from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, before cutting inside and bending his shot into the near post with his left foot.

Norway fielded midfielder Alex Tettey, who scored the opening goal as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Italy in Rome in their final European Championship qualifier.

The result means that Norway will have to go through a play-off in November to secure a spot at the tournament in France in 2016, whilst the Azzurri qualified as Group H winners.
