Young defender makes Millers switch

HARRY Toffolo has signed for Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United a one-month emergency loan deal, subject to paperwork.

Academy graduate Toffolo made his senior debut for City against the Millers in the Capital One Cup meeting between the two teams back in August.

The 20-year-old, who represented England's Under-20s during the last international break, links up with fellow Canary Tony Andreu at the New York Stadium and could make his debut versus Reading on Tuesday.

Neil Redfearn took charge of Rotherham for the first time on Saturday after replacing Steve Evans as manager, but they were beaten 2-1 by Brentford at Griffin Park.

Toffolo shone during a season-long stint at Swindon Town in 2014-15 as they reached the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final, making 30 appearances in all competitions.

He was a key part of the City Under-18s team that made history in 2013 by winning the FA Youth Cup.
