JONNY HOWSON: WE NEVER LOOK BACK

23 October 2015

'All about the next game', says Canaries midfielder

NORWICH City must not dwell on the past when they host West Bromwich Albion on Saturday (3pm), according to midfielder Jonny Howson.

The Canaries went down 6-2 at Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League last weekend, while their upcoming opponents secured a 1-0 victory over Sunderland.

Speaking to the media at Colney Training Centre on Friday morning, Howson said: "We can't do anything about the result so it was a case of reviewing it then putting the game to bed.

"What we can affect now is the West Brom match, which we're aiming to do. At home we need to give the fans something in order to help us get the three points.

"I always got told by one of my coaches when I was younger how important it was to keep a winning mentality at all times, so we have to put Newcastle to the back of our minds."

Howson insists the manner of City's defeat on Tyneside won't change the team's mindset, and added: "We've lost games under the manager before so our work building up to Saturday is no different to normal.

"As a group we've taken things on board so now it's about the reaction. Last week showed if you're not completely at it in this league then you're going to get punished.

"We worked very hard last season to get back here and know we have to keep that up."
