Winger settling into life at Carrow Road

NORWICH City's Matt Jarvis is determined to keep making a positive impression when his side visit Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday (4pm).

The winger has settled in seamlessly at Carrow Road since arriving on a season-long loan from West Ham United last month, netting twice in his first four appearances for the Club.

Speaking to the media at Colney on Thursday afternoon, Jarvis said: "It's been a good start for me here, beginning with the Bournemouth game.

"I scored quite a few for Wolves when I was in the Premier League with them, and it's one thing I've needed to improve on. I've scored a couple at Norwich already, and hopefully I can keep that up.

"We've got a competitive squad so I know I need to maintain my form. When you're given the chance to play you've got to take it, which is the same everywhere.

"As a group it wasn't nice to lose before the international break as you have that feeling for two weeks. We've had time to reflect on Leicester and want to put things right now."

Newcastle are currently bottom of the division, having collected three points from their opening eight games of the season.

Despite the Magpies' struggles, Jarvis insists City's mindset won't be affected, as he explained: "There won't be any difference in our approach.

"The manager is very good at doing his homework on teams, so we'll go through that. It's a tough place to go as there's always a real atmosphere there.

"They will be wanting to get the win at home and their fans will be expectant. However, we want to keep our away record going and have shown in games how well we can play.

"Everyone can see how good the team is but you have to be consistent too. In every match this season we're looking to make a strong start to ensure the other team doesn't pick up momentum, and Sunday is no different."
