U21s PREVIEW: LEICESTER CITY

19 October 2015

City's youngster prepare to face Leicester City

DMITRI Halajko's Under-21s will wrap up their Barclays Premier League International Cup campaign against Leicester City at The King Power Stadium on Tuesday, October 20 (7pm).

Winning their final group game would leave the Canaries in a strong position to secure safe passage into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Having beaten Villarreal at Carrow Road in their previous International Cup fixture, Halajko knows that his team's fate is in their own hands, as they currently sit in second place with three points from two matches.

However, they have to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham last week, in a game that was broadcast live on BT Sports.

Halajko said of that match: "We worked hard and were competitive, which is pleasing. The character they showed to get back in the game is testament to the work they put in."

A youthful Canaries side is likely to feature, although competition rules state that three overage players are permitted.

Leicester, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of a 3-1 victory over Manchester City - their first victory of the Barclays U21s Premier League campaign.

The Foxes suffered four defeats in six games beforehand, one of which being a thrilling encounter with Tottenham which ended 7-4.
