Striker previews Liverpool test

NORWICH City will take on Liverpool with a positive mindset on Sunday, says Cameron Jerome.

The frontman netted his first goal of the 2015-16 campaign against Bournemouth last Saturday, setting the Canaries on their way to a 3-1 victory at Carrow Road - a result that lifted them into the top half of the Premier League table.

Speaking ahead of their Anfield test, Jerome maintained that City have the capacity to take points off any team, especially in the opening stages of the season.

"It's early days and everyone can beat everyone. We watched them against Bournemouth who played some good stuff, and West Ham went there and did a number on them," he commented.

"It's not easy going to a difficult place like Anfield with the quality of players they possess, but we're quite confident that we can give anyone a game on our day.

"We'll go there in the right frame of mind and hopefully we'll be able to get a positive result on the day."

Jerome also believes that a combination of talent and hard work will be important as Alex Neil's team try to re-establish themselves in the top flight after one season away.

"We'll see how it goes this season. We feel we've got the quality in our dressing room to survive, but there's a lot of work that goes into that," he added.

"It's nice to get that first home win that we've been searching for, but we can't get carried away. There are plenty of games to go.

"When you get promoted, first and foremost you need to consolidate, to make sure that you stay in the Premier League."
