City youngsters end league campaign against the Rams

ALAN Neilson says Norwich City's Under-18s are determined to end the 2015-16 league season on a positive note when they visit Derby County on Saturday (12pm).

City's youngsters round off their Barclays Under-18s campaign away to the Rams, completing the regular schedule of the Club's Academy as a whole in the process.

Speaking exclusively to, Neilson said: "It's a game we're looking to enjoy, possibly taking a strong side now the Under-21s' season has finished.

"I've really enjoyed this season; it's been fantastic to work with Graeme Murty and all our other coaching staff. The development of the players has been good and hopefully next year will be equally positive.

"This week we've had a competitive edge in training. We'll try to take that into the match in order to win the game."

Reflecting on his first campaign as a full-time member of staff at Colney, Neilson added: "It's gone quickly and the lads can be proud of what they've done.

"We've not quite got the results we've deserved. There's been periods of games where we've played well, and then periods where we've played less well.

"Generally, we've gone with young squads across this season. That will be great for the players' overall development in the future."
