U21s PREVIEW: HALAJKO ON EVERTON

3 April 2016

Free entry at Carrow Road on Monday evening!

DMITRI Halajko wants Norwich City's Under-21s to 'thank the fans' at Carrow Road on Monday night (7pm) when they take on Everton, with tickets FREE to supporters.

The young Canaries suffered late heartbreak in their last outing after coming from 3-1 down to lead 4-3, conceding a last-minute penalty which was converted by Reading's Tarique Fosu.

"We were more disappointed with the account we gave of ourselves in the first half rather than the late penalty," Halajko told canaries.co.uk ahead of the Barclays Under-21s Premier League meeting.

"We should've played better and put us in a position where we would have been able to dominate the game like we did in the second half."

"If we had played well right from the start, the penalty would have hurt us more."

Halajko appreciates the effort that City fans have made in supporting the Under-21s at Carrow Road so far this campaign, and he has urged his players to show their gratitude.

"We've got four games in four weeks and this is our last one at home, so we want to go out and really thank the fans for the support they've shown for us with some good football," he explained.

Meanwhile, City will welcome back Joe Crowe and Jamal Lewis, who were both away on international duty with Ireland in the European Championship Qualifying Elite Stage.

"Jamal played all three games and they were his first competitive games at that level with Ireland, while Joe played in two and was suspended for the last one," Halajko said.

"That experience should hold them in good stead for the future and they'll be looking to build on that."

Tickets for the game are FREE for all supporters, with further information available HERE.

We will be joining the team on Monday night to provide coverage across our digital channels, with video highlights to follow on Norwich City TV.
