City make it seven points out of nine

ALEX Neil says his side possess the hunger to make the most of their opportunities Sky Bet Championship this season.

Neil, speaking to Norwich City TV following Tuesday's 1-0 win over Bristol City at Carrow Road, praised his side's character as they eked out a deserved win over the Robins.

He said: "The boys have got a real appetite to go and work hard for each other, and they want to do well this season.

"What we've got to do is make sure that no team outworks us. We've got to work as hard as we can.

"We might not always play well, but as long as we match people for work-rate and effort, we've got enough quality in our side to come up with that bit of magic, or when we can, pick teams off."

Assessing the victory that came courtest of Jonny Howson's first half strike, Neil added: "I thought the first ten minutes was quite even, but after that we were in control of the game.

"We hit the woodwork a few times, and if our passing at times in the final third was a bit slicker, we could have created more chances.

"I think we deserved to win the game, I can't remember too many opportunities for them to score, and it's another cleansheet.

"We performed better than we did on Saturday, which I knew we would, and that was pleasing."
