Connections between City and their weekend opponents

BIRMINGHAM City have one former Canary in their current squad, with defender Jonathan Grounds having enjoyed two separate spells at Carrow Road during the 2008-09 season.

A product of Middlesbrough's youth system, Grounds' first permanent move away from Teesside came in 2012 when he joined Oldham.

After two years with the Latics, he earned a move to Birmingham, where he has since made exactly a century of appearances in all competitions.

Conversely, current City striker Cameron Jerome made over 200 appearances for the Blues between 2006 and 2011, notably helping them win the League Cup in his final season with the Club.

Fellow forward Kyle Lafferty has also represented the midlands outfit, having played six times for Gary Rowett's side during a loan spell last season, scoring once.

Steve Bruce and Lee Clark have both spent time in the dugout at St Andrew's, with the former featuring 180 times for the Canaries during his playing career while the latter spent time on the Club's coaching staff.

Finally, the late Trevor Hockey made 231 appearances for Birmingham between 1965 and 1971, ahead of a six-month stint in Norfolk from February 1973.
