Full-back speaks to the media after Wednesday draw

IVO Pinto wants to get straight back down to work following the weekend's 0-0 stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday.

Reflecting on Norwich City TV post-match, the Portuguese full-back says he and his teammates are already thinking about the quick turnaround next week, with Bristol City the visitors to Carrow Road on Tuesday.

He said on Saturday: "If I could play tomorrow, against Bristol, I would play again tomorrow, to win the game. That’s why we are already focusing on the next game, we want to win at our stadium.

"With the quality that we have in our team, in front of our supporters, and not forgetting the last game we played I think we all expected to win, but this is football.

"When you look at our team, our squad of players that we have in the front of us, we have very good players, we showed that in the first game of the season, this one not that much, but we have that."

With the Canaries holding fourth place after two matches back in the second tier, Pinto reasserted his desire to forget last season's disappointments and plough all energy into the team's objectives for 2016-17.

"The past is the past, and I’ve already spoken about it," he added. "Now I’m focusing on going again to the Premier League, to take this club where it deserves to be.

"That’s my focus, that’s our focus, we are all thinking about it, we are decent this season, we want to go again straight away, and we want to show that in the end."
