Accies edge to narrow victory over Ross County

GOALKEEPER Remi Matthews kept his second clean sheet of the season on Saturday as Hamilton Academical secured a 1-0 win over Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

The City Academy graduate made a fine save to deny County's Michael Gardyne with little over 15 minutes remaining, prompting what would ultimately be a match-winning counter-attack.

Dougie Imrie was on hand to convert at the other end to give Accies their first league win of the 2016-17 campaign, lifting them up to sixth place in the process.

South of the border, fellow stopper Declan Rudd was also in action for Charlton Athletic during their 1-1 home draw with Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One.

Trailing to Gary Madine's 53rd minute opener, the Addicks rescued a point late on when substitute Ademola Lookman struck from outside the box.

Charlton have now collected eight points from their opening five league games, leaving them in ninth place.
