LOAN ROUND-UP: RUDD'S CHARLTON EARN FIRST WIN

17 August 2016

Addicks rise to see off Shrewsbury

DECLAN Rudd kept a cleansheet as Charlton Athletic eased to their first win of the season against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.

Russell Slade's men have made a slow start to life in Sky Bet League One but Ricky Holmes' brace and Johnnie Jackson's strike earned them a straightforward 3-0 victory at The Valley.

Rudd, who joined Slade's squad on a season-long deal at the beginning of the month, also featured on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Northampton Town.

Remi Matthews and Hamilton Academical weren't in midweek action, but at the weekend City's young stopper played in their 2-1 home reverse to Kilmarnock, his seventh appearance since linking up with them in the summer.
