Our rundown of the City players away with their countries

NINE Norwich City senior players have joined up with their countries for August and September international fixtures.

Russell Martin and Steven Naismith are included in Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad as they begin their World Cup qualifying campaign this weekend.

The Scots, drawn in Group F alongside England, face Malta at the Ta'Qali National Stadium on the island on Sunday, September 4 (7.45pm).

After their run to the Round of 16 at Euro 2016, Northern Ireland return to competitive action with Michael McGovern and Kyle Lafferty among their numbers.

They face a tricky game away to Czech Republic on Sunday, September 4 (7.45pm), with defending champions Germany also among their opponents in Group C.

Robbie Brady and Wes Hoolahan are in Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland squad as they prepare for two matches in six days.

The Aviva Stadium in Dublin will play host to a friendly against Oman on Wednesday, August 31 (7.45pm), prior to the group travelling to Belgrade to face Serbia in their Group D qualifier on Monday, September 5 (7.45pm).

Switzerland face Portugal in Basel for their first match in Group B on Tuesday, September 6 (7.45pm), and Canaries defender Timm Klose could play after his selection was confirmed last week.

Alex Tettey's Norway are in action twice; first in a friendly versus Belarus in Oslo on Wednesday, August 31 (6.30pm), and then against Germany in the same stadium for their qualifier on Sunday, September 4 (7.45pm).

Further afield, Youssouf Mulumbu is in Democratic Republic of Congo's squad as they host Central African Republic in qualifying for next year's Africa Cup of Nations (Sunday, September 4, 5.30pm).
