The latest squad update from Colney

ALEX Neil says Tuesday night's EFL Cup tie with Coventry City at Carrow Road (7:45pm) offers the chance to rotate his squad following a combative derby clash with Ipswich Town on Sunday.

"We've got to make sure we keep the minutes up for the lads who aren't featuring as much," Neil told the media on Monday afternoon.

"It's an ideal opportunity for some of them to get a game. We've got a lot of options, so there are plenty of experienced players there.

"At the moment we've got six injuries, which is not ideal, but the squad's still managing to cope."

The latest player with an injury concern is Ivo Pinto, with the right-back forced off at half-time at the weekend.

"Ivo has tweaked a hamstring muscle and we'll find out the extent of that later today," the City boss added.

"He felt it in the warm-up stretching for a ball but started the game with no issues. Unfortunately, as the game wore on it got worse and we had to take him off."

The quartet of Alex Pritchard, Graham Dorrans, John Ruddy and Martin Olsson are unlikely to feature, as they continue their respective recoveries from recent injuries.

"I think it will be too soon for them," explained Neil.

"In any sense, I'm not sure I would play them in the game. They would need at least a week of training before they got involved in that."

Matt Jarvis remains unavailable after undergoing knee surgery during the summer.
