City midfielder stars in resounding win

ALEX Pritchard says Norwich City's comprehensive 5-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday was the perfect way to begin reigniting their Sky Bet Championship season.

Heading into the game in poor form, the Canaries produced a fine display to emphatically brush aside the Bees, with Pritchard's efforts seeing him named as Man of the Match.

Speaking to Norwich City TV after the game, the 23-year-old said: "It feels really good after the run we’ve had.

"We put in a great performance, played some good football and 5-0 was a fair result. The second half was key today as we’d been good in the first half of a lot of games.

“We’d been up in games before, then the second half hadn’t been there but today it was. We had to put in a performance and had to get a result, so 5-0 was great.

"Today we were on another level. It was perfect for us."

Pritchard is determined to look forward now rather than dwell on City's previous struggles, and added: "We have to carry on and keep working hard.

"Today, everyone goes home happy; five goals and a clean sheet is perfect. It was crucial for the fans to see a good performance.

"You could see how together we were."
