Forward looks ahead to Royals clash

NELSON Oliveira wants to couple an impressive run of personal form at Norwich City with improved results ahead of the Club's Boxing Day trip to Reading in the Sky Bet Championship (3pm)

The Portuguese frontman has struck three goals in City's past four games, although the Canaries' fortunes as a whole over the last two months have largely been in stark contrast.

With just two league victories in nine, Oliveira knows more needs to come from Alex Neil's squad, and told the media on Friday: "I feel good as it's nice to score as a striker but it would be better if the team was winning games.

"The last couple of matches when we've lost, we'd not started properly in the first half. When we reacted in the second half it was too late.

"The last two months have not been good for us but we can turn things around. That's in the past now and we have to look at the game against Reading.

"We will work on the best to play against them and I believe we can win the game."

Having steadily settled into Norfolk life following his summer switch from Benfica, Oliveira credits the Carrow Road supporters for their role in his development into a City regular.

"I want to thank the fans and I'll keep working hard to make them happy," he added.

"My job is to help us win games. We have a lot of good players and should be doing better with the talent we have in the team.

"The season is only halfway through so we can still achieve things. We need to think about winning our next game and moving forward.

"We need to do better, we know that. We are Norwich City and people expect better."
