Young Canaries narrowly beaten by Wolves

A SPIRITED second half fightback saw City fall just short away from home against Wolves on Friday night in the Premier League Cup.

The Wanderers gave City's youngsters a mountain to climb after frontman Paul Galdon's brace in the opening ten minutes.

A frustrating first half saw Dmitri Halajko's side unable to get a goal after going two down early on.

Two minutes into the second half Wolves' Under-18s captain Cameron John scored on his Under-23s debut. Just two minutes later Gladon completed his hat-trick.

Diallang Jaiyesimi got one back for Norwich after 55 minutes, but there was still a long way to go for City to get anything from the game.

The Canaries further reduced the gap shortly after when Jaiyesimi bagged his second of the night.

Louis McIntosh's late penalty made the hosts nervous in the final moments but Wolves saw out the game and claimed the win.

One major positive was the welcome return of Conor McGrandles in the squad following his recovery from a double broken leg.
