The latest squad news ahead of Saturday

MARTIN Olsson is the most likely of Norwich City's current crop of absentees to make a return when his side visit Barnsley in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday (3pm).

The left-back missed last weekend's resounding victory over Brentford with a groin problem, having previously sat out the 1-0 defeat at Derby through suspension.

However, the triumvirate of Alex TetteyCameron Jerome (back) and Michael McGovern are less likely to be involved against the Tykes.

Speaking to Norwich City TV on Friday morning, Canaries boss Alex Neil said: "Martin is the main one who will move into contention this weekend.

"They are all making progress. However, the other boys are touch-and-go at the moment."

Matt Jarvis returned to action by featuring for City's Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday, playing the opening 45 minutes before being withdrawn.

The winger continues to progress towards first team involvement after recovering from knee surgery, but this weekend comes too soon for him.

"He's still quite a bit away because he needs minutes in his legs," Neil added.

"There's a game on Monday which he'll be a part of. Matt's been out for the best part of 28 weeks, which is a considerable time.

"With him, it's just going to take a little bit more time to get back up to speed."

Finally, Louis Thompson remains sidelined, and the City boss explained: "He's still recovering at the moment.

"We're hopeful we can get him back soon as it's taken longer than we would have hoped."
