Midfielder could feature against Boro

BEN Godfrey is relishing the prospect of a potential first appearance in Norwich City colours when the Canaries host Middlesbrough in the FA Youth Cup at Carrow Road on Wednesday (7pm).

The 18-year-old midfielder, who signed for the Club from York last month, is eligible for the fifth round tie and could be included in Graeme Murty's squad.

Speaking exclusively to, the one-time Middlesbrough trainee said: "Having the chance to perhaps play at Carrow Road is great.

"It's where I want to be playing in a few years' time. The FA Youth Cup is a competition we can do well in, so it's really exciting.

"I've got some friends at Middlesbrough, having been there before myself. I'm looking to get bragging rights in that regard, and we've got players who can cause problems for them."

Godfrey is hopeful of a significant crowd for the contest, and added: "It really makes a difference when there are people behind you.

"Having fans there means a lot to the players, so we'd love people to come and support us. The boys thrive off an atmosphere, and that's only going to increase our chances of doing well.

"The lads have done really well in previous rounds and we want to keep that going now."

Tickets for the game are priced at £2 for adults and 50p for under-17s, and can be purchased ONLINE, by phone on 0844 826 1902 and from the ticket offices at Carrow Road, Castle Mall and Chapelfield.
