Winger completes Ewood Park switch

ELLIOTT Bennett has completed a permanent transfer to Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The winger moves to Rovers, who are managed by ex-City boss Paul Lambert, for an undisclosed fee after four-and-a-half years at Carrow Road.

Bennett, 27, made 15 appearances for Bristol City this season during a loan spell that came to an end on Sunday.

The former Wolves trainee signed for the Canaries ahead of the 2011-12 Premier League campaign after impressing while at Brighton & Hove Albion.

He made 33 league appearances in his first year, memorably scoring the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in April 2012.

In August 2013, Bennett suffered a serious knee ligament injury that restricted him to just two appearances that season. In total, he played 79 games for City, scoring three goals.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to Elliott for his loyal services, and wish him the very best for the future.
