HALL OF FAMER TOMMY BRYCELAND DIES AGED 76

23 January 2016

Bryceland made 284 appearances for City

EVERYBODY at Norwich City Football Club was saddened to hear that Canary Hall of Famer Tommy Bryceland passed away this week at the age of 76.

A skilful and intelligent inside forward, Tommy made 284 appearances for City between 1962 and 1969, having previously lifted the Scottish FA Cup with St Mirren.

He was a key part of the Norwich team which famously dumped a star-studded Manchester United side out of the FA Cup in 1967, as they triumphed 2-1 against a Red Devils eleven including Best, Law, Stiles and Charlton.

Tommy allied his creativity with an eye for goal, hitting the net 55 times for City and finishing as the Club’s second-highest scorer in a season on three occasions.

The thoughts of all at Carrow Road are with Tommy’s family and friends at this sad time.
