The latest squad news from Colney

MATT Jarvis isn't quite ready to return to first-team action, even though Alex Neil admitted that he was close to considering him for Saturday's Emirates FA Cup meeting with Manchester City (3pm).

The winger, who completed a permanent move to the Canaries at the start of the current transfer window, has been absent since suffering a knee injury in the away Premier League game against the Citizens in October.

Neil said: "To be honest he was really touch and go, but we've waited nine to ten weeks to get him ready so the last thing I want to do is rush him back.

"We need to make sure that we're certain he's going to be fit."

New signing Ivo Pinto will not be included in the squad as he builds his fitness having undertaken only one training session with his new teammates so far.

Tony Andreu could play, though, after his loan at Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United came to an end earlier in the week.

"Tony's loan has finished so he's back as a Norwich City player and he will go into the squad," added Neil.
