New signing speaks exclusively to canaries.co.uk
TIMM Klose is excited about his ābig chanceā after completing a move to Norwich City, becoming the Clubās fourth recruit of the January transfer window.Klose, 27, signed for the Canaries on Monday subject to governing body approval, agreeing a three-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee from Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg.
In an exclusive interview with canaries.co.uk, the defender said that it has always been his ambition to prove himself at the top level of the English game, having played his football in Switzerland and Germany before now.
āIt means the world to me to have a chance in the Premier League,ā commented the Swiss international.
āWhen I started football, for me it was always a dream to play in the Premier League and now Norwich have given me a big chance. Now I want to give everything I can to be a good player in this league.
āWhen I looked up the schedule and at all the next matches, I was pretty excited. Iām happy to play against great teams and good players and to improve my own game and reach the next level.
āIām fit, we did two weeks of preparation at Wolfsburg and it was tough, so Iām ready now to touch the ball again and Iām looking forward to it.ā
The former FC Thun man is represented by Gaetano Giallanza, who played for the Canaries between 2000 and 2002 and told Klose only good things about the Club.
His own first impressions have been promising too, adding: āYou can smell the football.
āIn Germany, also sometimes in Switzerland, everything is very modern and new with everything, sometimes you lose the feeling of football.
āBut when I came here and saw the training ground, the stadium, and everything ā it was fantastic. This place smells like football, and thatās how I want to play.
āI knew that my agent played for Norwich so Iād heard some good stories. I knew about the history of the Club and everything was great in the end so I decided to move here.
āI canāt wait to hear the fans and play in front of them. Gaetano told me about them, he showed me some pictures and when he was here for a game he took some videos so I had a little impression of what to expect, so Iām looking forward to it.
āItās a big step for me to go from Germany, the German language, to a new level and a new chapter in my life.ā
