Norwich City earlier completed the signing of attacking midfielder Sergi Canos from Premier League side Liverpool on a four-year deal.

Born in Nules in 1997, Canos began his youth career with the Club of the same name prior to joining Barcelona's famed La Masia Academy in 2010.

After spending the next three years with the Catalan giants, the then 16-year-old moved to England to sign for Liverpool, taking a place in their Under-18s side.

Having featured regularly at that level, he made his Under-21s debut for the Reds against Manchester United at the start of the 2014-15 campaign.

Impressive form for the Development Squad over the course of that season prompted interest from Championship side Brentford, who secured his services on loan in August 2015.

His first senior appearance for the Bees came on 12 September, coming off the bench late on in a 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Canos made four further substitute appearances, before being handed his first start in Brentford colours for their 2-1 win over Rotherham United last October.

He continued to feature mainly off the bench, scoring his maiden senior goal in November just minutes after coming on to help put his side on track for a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Dean Smith's arrival as manager saw Canos given increased playing time, gradually becoming a regular as the season moved towards the New Year and leading to his loan being extended until the end of the season on December 27.

The very next day Canos netted Brentford's 'Goal of the Season' against Reading, eventually ending the campaign with seven goals from 38 league appearances - of which 18 were starts.

Upon returning to Liverpool at the end of his loan in May 2016, Canos made his Premier League debut as Jurgen Klopp's men played out a 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion.

Offered a new contract by the Anfield outfit, the youngster rejected the chance to remain on Merseyside in favour of a switch to the Canaries.
